We roast in small batches on a vintage Diedrich HR-1 roaster called Marlene, tucked away in our micro roastery behind the Haarlem shop in Wirksworth. Each roast is made to order and hand packed into eco-friendly coffee bags that can be recycled from home (you just need to tear off the valve).
We roast in 200g batches. By keeping things small, we stay focused on what matters most – good, honest coffee and the local area we're proud to call home.
The door to our roastery swings open every Friday morning between the hours of 10am and 12pm – at the moment, this is for collection of pre-orders only. If you urgently need a caffeine fix or just prefer to shop in person, our beans are available to buy in the Haarlem shop out front.
Our mini library
Our 'radical library' is a collection of brilliant books which challenge convention, hold a mirror up to society or advocate for change. Customers collecting orders are welcome to borrow a book – there are no fines or fees. We just ask that you leave a record of what you borrowed, when you borrowed it and a phone number, which will only ever be used to send a reminder if a book has not been returned in a couple of weeks so that someone else can read it.
We welcome (radical) book donations!
